Rush Alpha Kappa Psi

LETTER FROM OUR Leadership

Prospective Members,

Thank you for your interest in our organization. We are excited to welcome you to the 2020 Spring Rush of the Omicron Psi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi. We are a group of driven individuals who strive to better ourselves professionally and personally as well as help our brothers grow and succeed along the way.

Our Rush week will be held from February 3rd-9th, 2020. For more information on the rush week schedule please reference the "Rush Syllabus" linked at the top of the page.

For a brief overview of the requirements to be extended a bid we require that you can complete the following:

  1. Complete an online application.

  2. Attend Interview Night on Thursday February 6th at 7pm.

  3. Be able to attend pledge meetings from 6:00-7:00pm on Tuesday evenings during the semester.

  4. Able to be an active member for 1 complete semester. At this time you must be graduating no sooner than December 2020 to be eligible for a bid in the Spring of 2020.

  5. Obtain 12 of 25 points offered during rush week.

Information Night

Monday, February 3

This event is meant to introduce you to our chapter, core values, events, and member requirements. We will begin by presenting information about rush, our organization, and the pledge process. There will also be time to answer any questions you may have.

 

Following this event we will have an opportunity to network with our active brothers. You will be able to hear more about individual experiences and ask any further questions you may have about the organization. Networking will last approximately 30 minutes following this event.

Profesional Speaker

Wednesday, February 5

7 PM

Woodward Hall (Gatton Room 307)

We have invited a business professional to come speak regarding his experiences, values, and advice he has to offer us as college students on succeeding in the business world. Following this presentation there will be time for questions.

 

Dress: Business Professional. Men please wear a suit or a shirt and tie with a blazer. Women may wear a dress of appropriate length or a pantsuit. We understand you may not own professional business attire before rushing so we just ask that you make your best effort at professional dress in respect of our speaker.

Interview Night

Thursday, February 6

7 PM

Gatton Room 299

This event allows us to get to know you better individually. You will complete two interviews with a panel of 4-5 brothers. These questions will be casual in nature but please treat this event with the respect of a traditional interview. 

 

Dress: Business Casual. Men may wear a dress shirt and tie or blazer with khakis or dress pants. Women may wear dresses of appropriate length or a nice shirt and pants. As mentioned before, we understand you may not have these items so we just ask for your best efforts in meeting this request.

Bowling Night

Friday, February 7

6:30 PM

Meet at Gatton 2nd Floor Entrance

This will be a casual night to get to know the brothers better and enjoy a game of bowling. This event will take place at Collins Bowling Center on Southland Drive. We will provide you with a ride to and from the bowling alley. Please meet at the 2nd Floor entrance to Gatton at 6:30pm to arrange this carpool. Pizza will be provided.

Service Day

Saturday, February 8

12 PM

Jacobs Science Building Room 108

We will be practicing our core value of service together as a brotherhood.

Sunday, February 9

6 PM

Location TBD 

To celebrate the completion of our rush week we will be meeting for dinner. If you do not plan on attending dinner you are welcome to go anytime during the day.
